Letter From the Chair

As the program chairs of SNR XXII we are looking forward to welcoming you to the next Symposium Neuroradiologicum of the World Federation of Neuroradiological Sciences [WFNRS], May 13-16, 2022.  ASNR is hosting the symposium which is held every four years, and which, in 2022, will immediately precede the 60th Annual ASNR meeting.  We do understand that with Covid-19, this has been an extraordinary 12 months, leading to much uncertainty, displacement, disconnection, and many lives lost. Our worldwide Neuroradiological community has been unable to connect and network and share our expertise and ideas in the ways that we have enjoyed in the past. Our goal for SNR XXII is to capitalize on the learnings we have acquired in this all-virtual world and provide a forum to exchange ideas, describe imaging challenges and share solutions for best clinical practice. Our preliminary program for SNR XXII has been prepared, and we look forward to sharing more of the details of how you can be part of this landmark meeting and learn and socialize in a safe environment.

We are carefully monitoring the COVID-19 infection rates and CDC guidelines to help us determine the final format but hope to be able to bring our Neuroradiology community together physically in New York City in 2022.   The hotel is slated to open April 1st  and with all safety guidelines set, we hope that SNR XXII and ASNR 2022 will be a time to reconnect and share the wealth of our collective knowledge in person.

Please mark your calendars for SNR XXII. We look forward to seeing you!

SNR2022 & Midtown Magic

While our May 13 Opening Ceremony is still more than 2 years away, an on-site tour and planning session in New York this past January has our organizing team enthusiastic to get this meeting plan ready! The Hilton Hotel in Midtown Manhattan has a perfect conference set-up in a fantastic city location, in one of the most exciting cities in the world. We have a great layout to allow you to move from subspecialty to subspecialty session, while also looping back through the educational exhibits and case of the day posters. There is plenty of room to meet up and connect with your international colleagues, and will be a perfect place to reconnect with friends and mentors from around the world. The Hilton is surrounded by fabulous restaurants in easy walking distance, not to mention Fifth Avenue shops one block away. It is less than five minutes’ walk to the Museum of Modern Art [MOMA] or Radio City Music Hall, and just few blocks walk (or jog!) to the Rockefeller Center or Central Park.

Does it sound too amazing to be true? This is New York. This is SNR2022.

SNR 2022: Planning Is Underway!

Planning for SNR 2022 has now began in earnest.  Our Symposium leaders have been asked to start planning all sessions and speakers.  SNR will run for 3.5 days, starting on Friday May 13 until noon Monday May 16 when the annual meeting of ASNR begins.

Tracks dealing with Brain, Spine, Head/neck, Pediatric and NIR disorders will be combined with Hot Topics and Non Anatomical imaging tracks, each track may be followed individually or in combination with others.  There will be over 200 lectures!

Announcements regarding our plenary noon sessions will be made in the near future.  Scientific exhibits, posters, and commercial exhibits will run daily from opening to closing.

We have not forgotten that the meeting will be held in one of world’s best cities so our lectures will not begin until 8AM and will end by 6PM with a long lunch period every day so that all attendees can explore and enjoy the city!

More to come soon!
